Our missions

Reduce food waste

Every year, tons of vegetables are thrown away simply because they don't meet aesthetic standards. We collect these "non-standard" vegetables directly from producers to transform them into organic, tasty, and ready-to-eat spreads. A concrete way to fight waste right from the source.

Our missions

Supporting local farmers

Too often, farmers suffer losses from unsold goods or imposed sizes, with no recovery solutions. We purchase their seasonal surplus at a fair and direct price, creating with them a new, local, sustainable, and rewarding food sector.

Our vision

Promoting healthy and sustainable food

It's still difficult to find healthy, fast, environmentally friendly, and truly delicious products. Our recipes are rich in vegetables, organic, 100% natural, free of additives and preservatives, vegan, and gluten-free. They combine health, pleasure, and practicality—everyday.

We change
the rules of the game.

DALF is the Belgian initiative that transforms "non-standard" vegetables into delicious organic, local, and seasonal spreads. By collaborating with Belgian farmers, DALF fights food waste while supporting the local economy. Stunning recipes, additive-free, vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free—where taste, health, and responsibility are combined.

Our story

How it all began

For farmers, tons of fruit and vegetables remain on the farm and are undervalued because they don't meet aesthetic standards. These vegetables—bruised, irregular, but perfectly edible—told a different story: that of an absurd system that rejects anything that doesn't fit into its categories.

So Sophie decided to take action. Her idea: to prove that the value of food lies in its taste, its origin, its history, and its impact—not in its appearance.

In 2022, she created Dalf, with a simple idea: to revalue what is discarded, support producers, and give meaning back to our plates.

Our values

Long term

Dalf is a project that considers each stakeholder as essential for long-term collaboration.

Fair pay

We want to fairly compensate each intermediary, from producer to retailer, without impacting the consumer.

Transparency

Communication, ingredients, manufacturing processes. No secrets.

Link building

Between farmers, processors and consumers.

Creativity

In the development of recipes and product ranges, processing methods, product packaging, logistics.

Circularity

From field to plate (and not to the trash): promoting and optimizing local resources and eco-design.

Our food system is still too linear: we produce, we consume, we throw away. This model wastes resources, neglects producers, and increases unnecessary waste.

The story

A circular commitment
at every stage

At Dalf, we are working hard to rethink the entire chain by creating a circular, sustainable and local approach.

1. We recycle unsold vegetables directly at the source.

2. We work with nearby processing workshops and logistics partners.

3. We choose recyclable containers and reduce unnecessary packaging.

4. We support a local economy, where every stakeholder counts and nothing is left behind.

This approach, rewarded by BeCircular 2024, guides our daily decisions — to make every Dalf pot a small link in a big change.
